For just under a year, Traidcraft has been campaigning to ensure that people who’ve been harmed by UK companies abroad get justice. Since May this year, we’ve been asking Traidcraft supporters and campaigners to contact three government departments. We’ve now had a response from the Secretary of State for Business Innovation and Skills.
While the reply shows the government is starting to listen to us, it also shows that they still don’t accept our arguments in full. We’re glad that we’ve had this response, but it shows we need to continue to work with the government to help them understand why they need to take action.
If you haven’t emailed the ministers yet, don’t be put off by the fact that we have already received a reply. The more emails they receive, the more likely they are to act fully on what we are asking them to do.
So go on, send the emails. It'll only take a minute.
